So this time I send you pictures of my PHANTOM F-4J, scale 1/32, from TAMIYA. This depicts (using sheet n° 32-001 from FOX ONE decals) a MiG killer, from VF-92 SILVER KINGS, flown by LT Curt "Dozo" Dosé and LCDR Jim "Routeslip" McDevitt, 10May1972,  (the kill was a MiG 21MF flown by a Russian PVO during a Target CAP over Kep airfield).    Work on the kit began with cleaning the fuselage of all the wrong panels ( I think that people of TAMIYA studied  a "Battle Damaged" aircraft !).

Second was the cockpit, I detailed it with different stuff, wired all the panels, detailed  the back of the seats, put decals inside instrument panels, and detailed each sides of the cockpit. I put part of a small decal up some of the buttons on the panels - it looks great when finished but needs lots of time !

-  seats are from REHEAT, but I replaced the harness and belts with tape for the harness and photoetched belts, so we can have different attitude for the seats. - The canopies were detailed too. - I scratched the RAT compartment from plasticard.

- for the wings, I lowered the slats and flaps, pieces are made in plasticard too.  - All the wheel compartments were detailed and wired, and I opened different inspection panels, for oxygen or electrical plugs.

- The armament; the Sparrows comes from the kit, but the "Winders" are from CUTTING EDGE , there are what i call "a kit in the kit", you really need them when building at this scale ! - for the paint, i use white from TAMIYA (in spraycan) for the bottom fuselage, the upper part is paint with TESTOR, I used a mix of Gull Gray for the first coat, then I added some Lighter Gull Gray and some white in the same mix and painted the center of each panels. Then I add more white - I do the same right in the center of the panels, this gives the appearance of shades in the color.
- Weathering is made with TAMIYA SMOKE - this is a huge job !  A coat of TESTOR (mixed of clear and matt) coat for the end of the job !
