This Avenger was
used aboard a pilot training aircraft carrier in late 1943. The TBF 1 was
backdated from a TBF 1-C kit by adding the 30 cal. cowl gun and removing
the 50 cal. wing guns.

For an unknown reason the
outer wing panels on some Avengers faded quite a bit faster than the rest
of the aircraft.
The model is
finished with Model Master Paints, kit and homemade decals. Homemade
stencils were used for the painted over A17 markings.
