1/48 Hasegawa P-51D Mustang

Eight months to finish a 48th Scale Mustang…!!! It must be a record… The worst of them…!

The good thing about this model was the acquisition of my Small Shop 5” bending tool, free shipping from LuckyModels…! It’s great, and helps me a lot with the Fe-268 Eduard Zoom set.

Like you can see, I decide to scratch a new right side wall… Using an anonymous source of plastic sheet, same copper wire and the respective items from Eduard…   The other addition was the Quickboost exhaust pipes, scaled for Tamiya, but easily adapted…

The subject represents one of the most well known artworks on blue noses. ‘Pitie 2º’ was the John C. Meyers’s plane only for a short period of time; because was heated by a Jeep in a car crash…!

Any way, I decide to weather it as a new but well used war machine… To represent the heavy fighting conditions at the time…

Before that, the model was painted whit enamels and acrylics… Mainly the old Humbrol 11 Silver, sorry Alcad II lacquers are not available to me yet…  The blue was the Molak French Blue; I think it’s a 20th years old paint jar, but its work pretty well…!!!

Thanks…!!!
