Phantom number 198 is one of the most famous Phantoms out there. This of course being a 6 time MiG killer used by several different crews during the Viet Nam war. This scheme represents the last colours this airframe wore just before retirement to the Air Force Academy.

The kit is the tried and true Hasegawa F-4D using a Black Box cockpit. Now, I have combined the Black Box Cockpit with this kit many times over the years. This time it was an awful fit and needed super glue and a vis to close everything up. Then, quite a bit of putty. But in the end it was finished. The decals are a IPMS show sheet made by Two Bobs.

Of course you CAN NOT make this airframe without doing it in its MiG killer colours, that will be Phantom #199. One teaser pic.
