I picked up the Polar Lights Romulan kit several months back. However on opening the kit I found it far to small to build it the way I wanted. All lit up. Recently I found the old school AMT kit. Much bigger and boy does it bring back memories. Horrible fitting kit, but easy to put lights into.

The little guy appears to resemble some of the CGI models used on recent Star Treks like Enterprise and even Picard. The bigger AMT kit is a much closer match to the late 1960s version of Star Trek. The little guy is OOB, and a very simple snap kit. The AMT needs some putty, holes drilled into it for the lights and a lot of patience with the decals.
