This model depicts and Iraqi T-72 from the Desert Shield / Desert Storm period.  The T-72 was the most advanced tank in the Iraqi arsenal and was concentrated in the Republican Guard divisions, with the regular forces making do with older armor from the T-55 and T-62 generation.  The model is Esci's T-72 kit built out of the box;  the background is 1/1 scale Iraqi terrain.  Thanks to the Historical Miniatures Society of Northeastern Oklahoma (HMSNEO)  for donating the kit to the Baghdad Hobby Club.
