The Japanese Oscar is one of the
rarest WW2 aircraft existing today. The Indonesian Air Force was one of
the Oscar operators. Fortunately, there is a complete Oscar now displayed
at Air Force museum in Yogyakarta city situated 500 km south east of Jakarta.

I built my Oscar
straight out of the box except for Indonesian AF markings, because Hasegawa only
provides for Japanese Army. I painted the roundel and tail serial number
by myself. Although this was the old moulding kit from Hasegawa, the fit
was very good. No putty was necessary to finish the kit.
I painted my Oscar with Tamiya enamel paint : IJA Green and Flat Aluminum with
Army Green over spray on upper camouflage. The lower fuselage I used IJA Grey.
Before the camouflage was applied, first I painted the white and red for
roundels and yellow for tail number.
Cheers,
Rahman
