I built this wonderful kit almost entirely OOTB.  The only additions were thin fuse wires for the inside of the cockpit and Eduard photo-etched ignition wiring for the front harness ring of the already detailed Sakae Model 12 engine.  The plane is depicted as the one flown by Lt. Fusada Iida of the Japanese carrier, Soryu, during the bombing of Pearl harbor in December of 1941.

Painted using Tamiya Acrylics and Alclad II paints, the model's finish was given some light weathering, using oil washes and pastel drybrushing, to simulate a slightly weather-beaten plane on its way to bomb Pearl Harbor.
