This new release from
Twobobs features CAG Markings for the Scorpions of VAQ-132 for both their EA-6B Prowler and newer EA-18G Growler.
In January 1971 VAQ-132 the Scorpions were the first operational squadron to
transition to the EA-6B Prowler.
A new chapter in the
history of electronic warfare began in January 1971 as VAQ-132 became the first
operational squadron to transition to the new EA-6B "Prowler" at NAS
Whidbey Island. As the first Prowler squadron in Vietnam, VAQ-132 flew combat
support flights from six different carriers on YANKEE STATION in the Gulf of
Tonkin.
August of 1990 began
the most colorful chapter in Scorpion history after Iraq invaded Kuwait. The
Scorpions were on hand in the Red Sea for Operation DESERT SHIELD. On January
17, 1991, VAQ-132 was once again first to fight, leading the way into combat and
supporting the first wave of strike groups during Operation DESERT STORM.
They switched to the Boeing EA-18G in early to mid 2009.
This sheet covers two of their aircraft
(EA-6B Prowler and newer EA-18G
Growler) with both jets being adorned with large Scorpion artwork. Both of
these jets are VAQ-132
aircraft #500.
Full set of stencils for both aircraft to include the first complete set of stencils per Navair manual of the Growler ever released in decal form.

There are also ALQ-99 pod markings for both aircraft included in the set.
This is a very inclusive decal sheet

The instructions
are clear and
include 4 views of each aircraft. The decals are beautifully printed on 2 decal
sheets. I am stunned by the massive numbers of stencils contained on
this decal sheet and two full pages of the instruction sheets are devoted to
just stencil placement. Paint codes are called out in FS #'s, Testors MM,
Humbrol, Gunze Sangyo and Xtracrylics.
This decal sheet includes the
great looking Scorpion artwork VAQ-132 that is a hoot to see released in decal
form. This is your chance to build 2 very different Growlers......gotta' love that!!!
This sheet is available through http://www.twobobs.net/
and select US Hobby Shops. Overseas customers can purchase these from
Twobobs site or through Twobobs network of overseas distributors.
